We first heard of the organisation when my cousin and her husband became involved with the charity 18 months ago and went to Tanzania with a small group of people on a sponsored safari.

This was a life changing experience for them, as they did not only experience the beauty of Tanzania and witness the wildlife but they trecked with the Hazda hunter gatherers and Massai warriors. They also learned how the Masai lived and how African Initiatives is supporting the Massai women who have no property rights and few social, educational, political or economic rights.

Since their return, they have become very involved with the work not only in Tanzania but in Ghana where African Initiatives has been supporting those suffering from trading injustice. As a social justice organisation, African Initiatives works with communities in Africa building self-sufficiency and confidence to empower people to fully participate in the decisions that affect their lives.
